Prof. Jack Millar's book goes back to where he started

Prof. Jack MillarAs one of his last acts before his death, Professor Emeritus Jack Millar went back to the beginning. His book "The Hillcrest Community Chronicles" is a reflection of the late zoologist's early life in British Columbia. As his wife Donna Millar says "Jack grew up in a mill town on Vancouver Island, and the book is a chronicle of life in a company town, and of the history of the logging and lumber industries there."

Hillcrest Chronicle book coverProf. Millar finished the manuscript before he passed but didn't have the time to compile it. "His sons have put it together and have published it" says Ms. Millar.

The 370 page volume will be available August 17th at his Celebration Of Life, or directly from donnalmillar@gmail.com. It sells for $40.00 (plus shipping). All proceeds will go to the John S. Millar Field Course Award at Western.
